It has been a long time since I added something to my blog. The list of tasks is growing all the time and it comes to a stage when you understand: It is time to stop for a few days and spend them with the family.

This time we decided to go to Australian Snow Mountains (Kosciuszko National Park) and show Maxim what snow is like. Snow mountains are located around 500 km far from Sydney. It is 6-7 hours drive with some stops to have some rest for kids.

We decided to go to Perisher Valley snow resort as there are some places where you can sled with kids. I took also body surf board and this board was a hot hit of the trip ;) as the speed on it was much faster comparing with the sled we had. Maxim was excited during first 4-5 rides but when we did a ride from the top of the hill he was scared and did not want any more rides ;)) he always repeated after that “please, slowly”

Snow! When you go to snow with kids for the first time you want to show them how to make a real snowman. So they can see it in real life not just on the picture. We took with us different small stuff to decorate a real snowman. I think it was the best snowman I helped to make in my live.

The next day we decided to go to the Yarrangobilly Caves. It is 1.5 hour drive from our apartments in Berridale. Maxim did not like caves. He was afraid of them. The Cave we explored was inside the rock and 500m long. It was a lot of dripping inside. Maxim did not like it ;) But it looks like this caves impressed him more than snow as he talkes about them now a lot more than about snow. Looks like he had more emotions being in the cave rather than playing with snow.

There is a thermal swimming pool about 1.4km far from the caves. It is a lovely bush walk along the rock river. Water in the pool is 27 degrees all year around. Water comes from the Earth interior through cracks. Around 100.000 liters of water comes to pool per hour.

We enjoyed this trip so much. The only problem about it was too much driving within short time. When we came home we had a feeling that we need some rest from the “rest”.

Thanks to Marina for cool photos.
